Ingredients
- 2 eggs
- 150ml milk
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp vanilla
- 1 tsp cinnamon or nutmeg
- Thick white bread or sliced brioche
For the pan
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
Method
- In a bowl, crack in the 2 eggs, add the milk, sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon, and whisk well.
- Get your pan on the stove and melt your butter and oil. A mixture of butter and oil helps achieve the perfect browning of the French Toast and prevents it from burning.
- Turn on your oven to low heat to keep your French Toast warm as you fry it.
- Get two slices of bread and leave it to soak up in the bowl for a few seconds. Layer the bread on top of each other to get one thick slice of bread. Watch my video below to see how it’s done.
- Fry on each side, on medium-high heat for a few minutes. Cooking over medium to medium-low heat will ensure that the toast is cooked through without burning the outside. As a tip, let the toast cook undisturbed for a couple of minutes before flipping to allow a crust to form so it doesn’t fall apart when flipping.
- Decorate with blueberries and greek yoghurt and douse in maple syrup.
